An oral, competitive, non-steroidal inhibitor of aromatase; which is the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen and catalyzes the final step in estrogen production. This medication is commonly prescribed for excessive estrogen production and the suppression of serum Estradiol levels in men. This suppression may also help improve symptoms of elevated estradiol such as nipple sensitivity, fluid retention, and decreased libido. Taken orally with water.
