Salivary Cortisol Kit (4-Tube) LabCorp
This test measures cortisol in the saliva to detect elevated stress levels and potential adrenal distress.

What is this test?
The Salivary Cortisol Test takes four separate measurements of your saliva to accurately detect cortisol levels. While most hormones require blood testing to precisely measure levels, cortisol is better measured through this comprehensive multi-tube salivary test.
When you order the Salivary Cortisol Test, you will receive a four-tube kit and collect your saliva at four different points throughout the day to better ensure accuracy. The recommended times of day to collect your saliva are typically upon waking, noon, 4 PM, and right before bed.
Cortisol is the hormone that is released during times of stress. Elevated levels of cortisol can indicate chronic stress. Over a long period of time, elevated cortisol levels can contribute to hormone imbalance, lowered immune system, difficulty sleeping, and other issues.
Cortisol levels can also point to adrenal distress and disease. Symptoms of adrenal distress include abnormal tiredness, a poor response to stressors, mood changes, brain fog, and others. Abnormal cortisol levels can indicate diseases like Cushings Syndrome and Addison Disease, as well.
Who is this test for?
If you have been experiencing times of heightened stress, you can order this test to detect whether your cortisol levels are elevated. You can also order the Salivary Cortisol Test if you have ongoing symptoms of adrenal fatigue and distress, or symptoms consistent with Cushing’s Syndrome (elevated cortisol levels) or Addision’s Disease (cortisol deficit).
