Zika Virus, IgM, Serum LabCorp

The Zika Virus, IgM, Serum test is used to provide presumptive (not definitive) evidence of Zika virus infection, which is caused by Zika virus. Zika virus is typically spread via mosquito bites, although a woman with Zika virus infection who is pregnant can pass the virus to her developing baby. An infected individual can also pass to their partner during sex. 

There are typically no apparent symptoms in those infected with Zika virus, although some may experience mild illness with symptoms that may include fever, rash, joint pain, or redness of the eyes.
