This panel assesses the need for Peptide Therapy in women.

What is this test?

The Initial Peptide Therapy Panel for Women measures several factors to determine whether Peptide Therapy may be beneficial as well as identify risk factors.

Peptide Therapy utilizes peptides to signal the secretion of Human Growth Hormone (hGH), which is a hormone responsible for growth and development, among other functions. hGH decreases naturally as we age, which can lead to reduced strength and muscle, increased fat gain, memory and cognitive issues, difficulty sleeping, slow recovery times for wounds and exercise, and more.

The tests used for assessing a patient’s need for Peptide Therapy include:

  • Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF-1) Test – This test measures IGF-1, which provides accurate insight into hGH levels in the blood since the two are interconnected. IGF-1 is a hormone that is released by the liver and is responsible for bone and tissue development.
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel – This panel is a general screening for overall health. It can help identify and rule out potential conditions that may be causing your symptoms, as well as identify and risk factors.
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) Panel – the CBC panel is a standard health screening that measures different blood factors to identify inflammation, infection, disease, and other potential health concerns.
  • Fasting Insulin Test – Insulin and hGH perform interconnected functions within the body. Insulin can impact the effectiveness of hGH, and vice versa, which is why it’s an important factor to measure. This test can also help diagnose diabetes, prediabetes, and insulin resistance.
  • Hemoglobin A1c – This test measures average blood sugar levels to detect diabetes and is part of the panel as a comprehensive health check.

Who is this test for?

This test is for women who are interested in Peptide Therapy to treat age-related decreases in hGH. If you are experiencing the symptoms listed above, this panel can identify whether Peptide Therapy may help.

If you are interested in Biodientical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) along with Peptide Therapy, we recommend ordering the Complete Wellness Panel for Women with the Add-On Peptide Therapy panelThe Peptide Therapy Initial Panel for Women is if you are only interested in Peptide Therapy, and it cannot diagnose sex hormone deficiencies.
