Amylase, Serum LabCorp

The Amylase, Serum test is typically part of a workup for abdominal pain, epigastric tenderness, nausea, and vomiting. These symptoms are typically associated with acute pancreatitis along with acute surgical emergencies including GI perforation (i.e. peptic ulcer with perforation) or bowel infarction.
